Welcome to the Autumn Term in Year 5! On this page you will find information about our class routines, current topic, activities and all of the fun things we will be getting up to!
Class Information
Some things to remember for our class:-
- Bring a bag to school everyday and get used to being responsible for your own things in readiness for Year 6 and Comprehensive School.
- Bring a water bottle to school everyday- plain water only is permitted, we need to look after our teeth!
- Reading books need to be brought to school everyday.
- We have a spelling test and a times tables test every Friday so remember to learn them!
- Bring a PE Kit to school at the start of every half term- they will be returned for washing at the end of the half term. PE kits should include a T shirt and joggers/leggings/shorts. Trainers are needed for outside games.
- If hot weather is forecast please put some sun-cream on before coming to school and bring a sun hat.
- Please label all school jumpers with your child's name.

Our Current theme is…
Scream Machine!
Roll up, roll up. You’re going on a day trip to a theme park, to soak up the unique sights, smells and sounds of the fair. Learn about the science behind roller coasters and write poems that are shaped as a loop the loop. Design a theme park and show your ideas on a digital map. Time for some mini investigations. Cam mechanisms, pendulums, pulleys and prototypes. Let’s go behind the scenes to see forces at work. Good news. The engineers at ‘Scream Towers’ love your work and want you to build a death defying new drop ride for their theme park. Make a working model and test it out. Okay, ready to ride? Don’t forget to scream if you want to go faster.
